This was a beautiful place to stay. Each morning we awoke to deer and wildlife out the window. Star gazing here is breathtaking and clear, it's nice to lay out a blanket on their grassy area and gaze. There is a pizza pub and general store across the street and a breakfast place not too far as well. Bathroom is large and clean and bed was very comfortable and plush! We went on a holiday weekend and although it looked to be booked up the noise from neighbors were never an issue!
The lodge location in a remote valley makes it ideal to disconnect and relax for a few days, and it was relatively close to the Trail of 100 Giants. WiFi in the lodge was surprisingly good.
The location is beautiful, peaceful, and has a lot of potential if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. However, be aware that you truly disconnect from everything even before arriving because there is little to no cell phone service well before you reach the property. I booked this property because the listing advertised it as being a 20 minute drive to Sequoia National Park. Before arriving, I specifically asked the host about this and was told the Ash Mountain Entrance was approximately 25–35 minutes away. After arriving, I found the actual travel time to be significantly longer than represented, which had a major impact on our itinerary. The room itself was clean, and check-in was easy. However, if your main purpose is visiting Sequoia National Park, I recommend verifying the travel times independently before booking to make sure they fit your travel plans.
